Nick Savvides is a recognised technology and cybersecurity executive, with over 25 years’ experience spanning from being a practitioner, to operations leader, to a business leader. Most recently, he served as Field CTO and Head of Strategic Business, Asia-Pacific, at Forcepoint, the global cybersecurity leader in data security. In that role he headed Forcepoint’s APAC technology and strategy practice, guiding the development, commercialisation and operationalisation of cloud and AI-powered products in data security.
Savvides is an active participant in the Asia-Pacific cybersecurity community, being a member of a number of industry and professional bodies, expert councils and advisory boards across the region, contributing to conferences, panels and public discussions. He provides thought leadership and over-the-horizon guidance, contributing to many industry and community consultations.
Savvides regularly appears in the media on cybersecurity related topics and is a prolific publisher of original works having presented at over 120 conferences and contributes regularly to high profile events. He is an avid supporter of the cybersecurity industry, promoting and advising a number of startups on their products and business strategies.
After working as a practitioner for some years, Savvides joined VeriSign and then Symantec in various technology, sales and leadership roles across Asia-Pacific. He was Symantec’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Asia-Pacific & Japan (APJ) before joining Forcepoint, contributing significantly to that company’s move to cloud, the development of its data security offerings and its go-to-market strategies in APJ.
Prior to entering the software industry, Savvides worked for the University of Melbourne in various science and technology related roles. Most notably, he managed the high-performance computing technologies at the Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computing and was responsible for developing nuclear microprobe analysis and control tools.
He is a Science graduate of The University of Melbourne having studied Physics and Computer Science.
